Thanks to Darren, Cubbie and I got to see "Hero" tonight. The visuals were simply stunning!! Vivrant colors were used throughout, and they were there to serve a purpose as well. Yes there may have been a bit too many piano wires used in the movie, but it wasn't as much as "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". Many seem to think that the cinematography rivals that of "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers". That's pretty darn good. :) I like the visuals of "Hero" simply because they portray a lot more emotion to me... They're also eye-dropping gorgeous, really... The martial arts sequences were, without a doubt, breath-taking... I never thought a spear could be manipulated in such a fluid way... I personally think if you walked out of the theatre asking yourself "Who is the true hero? What does it mean to be a hero?" with the appreciation for the beautiful cinematography done by Christopher Doyle, Yimou Zhang will probably be more than pleased.

By the time we were done watching the movie everything was covered in snow!!! Man, It is snowing so much out there it's not even funny.. There's so much snow piled up on the streets already, but the threre's no sign of any mercy from the snow gods for it seems rather unlikely that it's gonna stop snowing anytime soon. Insane, really..

UPDATE: [4:08AM]: All universities in pittsburgh has shut down due to winter snowstorm
