Happy Halloween!!! Back from Fright Night at Station "Scare". Had a good time just roaming around the amphitheatre and blazing trails inside those damn dark haunted houses. :) It was freezing as hell....uhmm... I mean... as the north pole... or something... -.-;;

Honestly, none of the haunted houses were even close to being scary. Ok, they were dark, the cleverly (kinda) placed dead ends were interesting, and the strobe lights blinded you rather well. Of course there were those scary figures that looked mildly gross if you were able to look past the horrible craftsmanship... But scary? hardly... It was more of a ... funny house... heh heh... cuz we went in, and a crowd of African American females followed in shortly. The girl right behind me kept pushing me cuz she wanted to run away from the scary part-time employees of the haunted house. The funny part was thatall of them were screaming at the top of their lungs "ah!!!!!!! motherfucker!!! ah!!!! shit!!!" kinda like Chris-Tucker-meets-Eddie-Murphy style. Cubbie and I just came out laughing our heads off. ^^;;; That certainly made it up for it not being scary. ;)

Can somebody fill me in on why punk Asian kids these days (well, I guess kids did the same when I was in college, too) refer to each other as "Dog" (Or spelled "DAWG" to be cooler), or Nigger (or spelled "NIGGAH" to be cooler)? No offense to African American people, but why do these Asian kids want to be black that bad? Getting into the Hip Hop culture is fine. Baggy pants? Sure. But calling each other Nigger? I dunno... -.-;;;

This heel and toe thing... very hard... :'( 4th gear -> 3rd gear rev matching have been pretty smooth most of the time. 3rd -> 2nd gear not as smooth... Doing heel-and-toe while taking on a curve... very clumbsy... -.-;; grr... First of all, the height difference between the pedal and the brake is enormous... or so it feels like it... so for me to correctly blip the throttle I have to really turn my foot and push that heel down... otherwise I apply the breaks too firmly and it doesn't work... Do aftermarket pedals solve this problem??? I don't see how the added size of the pedals help the height difference.... or am I missing something else?? I suppose those with aftermarket pedals could opt to use the side of ther foot instead of their heel... I dunno... argh... just a bit frustrating... I need more practice... practice... practice... grrrr...

Saw "Much ado about nothing" on Friday at the O'Reilly Theatre with cubbie. It was a different experience after having watched a broadway production few weeks back. Plus I've never read a Shakespeare piece that wasn't tragic. kee hee. The stage was very nicely done, and the actors were superb. It must be really hard to look natural when you have to exaggerate that much to show your moves and to be clear in what you're saying without the aide of a mic... much deserved props to all those who performed.

On Saturday, I saw "The Ring"... Well, not as good as the Japanese version in my opinion... The plot was too shallow compared to it... It was pretty well done, tho... much better than I had expected. I wonder if I can get a hold of Ring 0, the prequel, somewhere... I actully want to read the novel... It's probably too difficult for my Japanese skills... but, I think the novel could be pretty darn good...

It looks like I'll be spending today doing the laundry, washing dishes, and finishing up my homework. YAAAAWWWWWN~ People Don't forget to set your clocks back 1 hour for day light savings tme is over~!!

A random thought... In 5 years... I'm going to trade my Bora in and probably get a daily drive that's relatively fun to drive and has lots of utility and built for all-season-performance... maybe an SUV... then as a second car I'd like to buy myself something like the s2000... Does everyone agree that this car blows away the competition in its price range??? Engine that is I4 2.0L producing 240HP for a 2800lb car... ok, it lacks torque, but the fun on this car is at 8000RPM! :) If I were to buy a second car for myself, this car would be a no-brainer... *SIGH* But, then I probably would never be able to give up my dream car... the M3... Fast forward 5 years, please!!!!! Oh, and I really hope I'd be earning at least twice what I make now. ^^;;

My baby Bora is BACK! I got the body shop to install my new shift knob for free and they've also bought me front/rear splash guards which they'll install for free. I have to go back on Thursday to get my TURBO badge purchase reimbursed (cuz they took it off without knowing that they're not OEM badges) and I'll probably get my splash guards installed then as well. My car feels totally weird... cuz I've been driving this stiff ass Neon all week for so long my Bora feels divine!!! Man... and the new shift knob is sweet as hell. ;) I'll snap pictures of the latest modifications once I get my door sills, new wheels and tires installed. This should mark an end to the first stage modification for my Bora. Second stage will include a Cold Air Intake and E-code Bora Headlights and assorted bulbs for better visibility..... All that won't happen until next summer, tho. Enough $$$ on my car for now. Kee hee. ;)

Speaking of car modification... Take a look at this site. This one is also kinda funny. :)

Back from DC... didn't get shot. ;) It took me 4 and a half hours on my way back, which is about 40 minutes slower than the record I set last time when I drove Bora.... grrr... I want my Bora back NOW!!! While my car is in the shop, the other pair of tire/wheel package arrived this morning. I'll probably install them on Friday before I leave for DC again on Saturday to finish building my cousin's computer. -.-; While I was down there I got to check out my cousin's husband's new E320 with sports package. Pretty nice, but 221HP/232 lb-ft torque stock out of a 3.2L engine??? Heh, I'll beat that when I chip my Bora after my warranty expires. :P Very nice nonetheless.

Alright me and my colleagues are headed to Thai Me Up which is a new Thai restaurant opening up tomorrow on the South Side. A colleague of mine is friends with the owner so we get to take a sneak peek and grab a bite to eat before opening day. :) You guys should all check it out!

!@#@$@%... it's been 2 weeks since I put my Bora in for repair, and guess what? It hasn't come out yet... why? Cuz the guys at the body shop didn't know how the VW doors worked, and broke it... they've been waiting for a part that is required to fix it for the past week... In the meanwhile I'm stuck driving a friggin green 2000 Neon.... Yes I'm back to another Neon cuz the repair shop needed to put me in THEIR car instead of the rental company's cuz it was THEIR fault for breaking the door... Automatic transmission, below-average torque and no CD player... No fun at all.... No fun... ARGHHHHH!!!!!!!$@$!#@$@#@% I'm going to have to drive this down to D.C. tomorrow to see my cousin... this sucks major arse... Bleh.... Now I know NEVER to trust my claim agent's recommendation for a body shop. NEVER!

On a brighter note, my Oettinger RE's and ST115's have arrived... Well, 2 of them have... still awaiting the other 2.... I guess I'll put'em on when I get my car back and sport it for a month or so until it snows... ^^;;;

Last night in class we were discussing organizational behavior and some of the characteristics of the events that occur within: namely stress, conflict, teamwork, and power struggle. Out of all those things, stress was the most grim one to discuss...

It's true that we as people choose to be stressed out. However, ironically we really don't have a choice but to choose to stress out. If you're a college student stressing out over your GPA, then you've made a conscious decision that you want good GPA and that in turn is driving your stress upwards. However, getting bad GPA isn't really a choice per se.... Same thing with stress in the workplace. You have made a conscious choice that you'd like to perform well and be recognized in the workplace, and that in turn drives up your stress. However, the fear of losing a job and becoming an unemployed nobody (from a capitalistic society perspective, that is) by not performing well isn't exactly a choice, either... I guess it can be kinda grim, but I think the bottom line is that you stress about things you care about... Moreover, it's pretty much all for yourself (alluding to the notion that there is no true altruism). That actually works as a positive feedback to myself that those things that stress me out are things I truly value in my life...

Bring on the stress! Life IS beautiful.
