Panther... is total bliss... Get it now! I'm amazed at how much faster the overall performance of the operating system has become... I was somewhat bummed out when I had upgraded to Jaguar previously since everything actually became a tad bit slower. I had to bite my lips and say "Oh, well. Tis what the typical sofware developers do; depend on Moore's law to solve issues with performance". But, Panther, my goodness.... is kinda like how the Gran Turismo team comes out with the GT3 A-Spec for PS2 and then on the same hardware manages to produce an even more visually stunning showcase with GT4. You know what I mean? It looks like Apple did something really right with the code this time. Of course the other neat things like better network browsing, X11 support, and even that Expose thing is kinda cool, too. :) Ah... my ibook just looks that much sexier to me right now. .^_____^

I've been blessed with lots of intellectual satisfaction and motivation on the geeky side of myself for the past month. I'm currently working on a short independent project revolving around decision trees. I've never taken any data mining or machine learning courses, so it's something new and kinda interesting to learn. Certainly not a field I imagine myself delving very deep into, but a pretty fascinating topic nonetheless. It's also an opportunity for me to do some system architecture work which I always enjoy doing. The project should be over in another week at which point I have another project for myself which I'm extremely excited about. It's work-related but not work supported if you get my drift. ;) It's just something I feel a great urge to rise to the challenge of just to see if I can do it. I'm dying to publish some papers regarding the work I do and this and another project that I'm working on are two great candidates, so I'm gonna push hard to get it done. Heh heh, my brain is very happy these days. :D

Although I've been an avid blogger for some time, I never realized how big blogging has gotten over the years... I used blogging for a class I took about eXtreme programming and I have set up a knowledge blog at work for everyone to use, so I obviously see much value in the various different types of blogs much lik the others who defend blogs on the internet as a valuable resource. However, there are some who are notoriously anti-bloggers who believe them to be noise which will eventually do more harm than good. Well, one thing for sure is that they're going to have to deal with noise on the internet even without blogs so they had better start researching! :P

That reminds me... I need to put out an RSS feed of my blog.

Aw, man... This is the handheld I've been waiting for... Pete has it and it... is... sweet... I could really care less about the whole handheld + phone thing... I will get by just fine when I start synching both the cell phone and the Clie via iSync. I just need a data cable for my phone. Which reminds me that I should get the data cable anyhow... Do I have any rich friends who want to be nice to me this Christmas? :)

This is an interesting article that resonates quite well with the research and development work I'm engaged in at work. If you're at all interested in massively distributed modualr software design, then you should give it a read. He also touches slightly upon the biological nature of the evolutionary computing paradigm which is a topic I find rather fascinating. Damn, I sound so buzzwordy...
