A colleague of mine sent me the following link to a statment made by Edward W. Felten... I think this will infuriate a lot of people... The statement is about what RIAA is doing to stop the presentation of the paper titled "Reading Between the Lines: Lessons from the SDMI Challenge" ...

The letter can be read here

By now you guys probably have heard the news that FF IX is going to be out on a PC and the PS2 ONLY. I read it over at SonyWeb. They have the old screenshots... But, they still look damn good. *drool*. Also, Sega confirmed that they're developing 23 titles for the GameCube (the next-gen nintendo). Hit the article here. The interview with Yuji Naka SAN, the Sonic Team director , is here

Okay... despite the fact that school is not over and that I'm still swamped with so much stuff to do, I signed up for the Majestic Contact Demo... I dunno... If this proves to be as deceiving as The Game, then I would be soooo impressed. Any other comrades signed up???

I caught a glimpse of this sorta cute tank top for girls.. should I buy it for my girlfriend and risk the possibility of not being able to run a port scan on her for vulnerable ports that I can exploit? ;) heh heh.

I just got a link from my boss to an article on Gamasutra that reports the demise of Indrema, the potential venue for indie game developers... Ya know, as always money is the problem.

This does kind of raise an interesting question, however. Would Indrema have taken the Linux Game developer's market and both helped the Linux community gain more interest and also let the independent developers see the light of the day? Or would it have failed anyways due to the fact that Microsoft is in the league with their XBox??

It would have been a lot harder for Indrema to start a campaign in Japan like Microsoft did... Was it just doomed to fail from the start since game console really need big-name publishers like Sega, Capcom, Konami, Square, etc and Indrema never did? What do you guys think?

It seems like WildTangent is finally getting its fair share of attention... I mean it's run by Alex St. John, so I'd have expected there to be a bigger buzz when it launched, but it didn't really..... It has snagged substantial amount of cash from Sony, and given the current economic situation here in the U.S., that's pretty good. =)

But, I just can't erase the presentation that they gave at Siggraph 2000's Web3D roundUp, though... It was horrible... They were trying to show the ability to to music visualization and some dude with an elec guitar shoted out "Are you guys ready for some Rock N' Roll?" and started playing N Sync's Bye Bye Bye... hmmm... Some people spell Rock with T, E , E , N , P, O, and P... I just hope they have somethig better for Siggraph 2001.

A good piece of April Fools joke... Python was going to add optional curly braces into the language syntax... And a hybrid language that combines PERL and Python dubbed Parrot was going to come out... I totally fell for it... ;) Although, I have to admit that the block scheme currently employeed by python could cause great confusion when you have extremely long code blocks .... then again that's why you should divide your code into functions.... unless you're like me and are trying to port FIPS181 to pure python code (I ended up just making a c python module)
