| I heard Remy Shand's first single Take a message today. Actually, it was the music video that I stumbled across on the net whilst scouting radio station playlists to see what tracks are heavy in rotation. It didn't take too long to sense that this shabby looking canadian kid has talent. Maybe not molded to perfection yet, but certainly a 23 year old who can play ALL the instruments for his first album and produce it by himself has the potential to grow in years to come. I bet many music critics are having a feast with him critiqing his style; accusing him of lack of originality (Marvin Gaye and Al Green's name will be thrown around) or mocking him purely for being a white guy singing soul music. Hey, that's what critics do... criticize others. :) The important thing is that he's still very young and I think he has got what it takes to keep digging in. Props and a warm welcome to another young talent to hit the soul scene. You wanna know what's even more important? I like it. :) |
