Davey D reports that IBM employees were promoting their new line of Linux products by spray painting graffitis that read "Big Blue" along side peach signs and penguins in Chicago until they got busted... It doesn't seem like they'll be treated like other graf writers, though.. they got the Korporate backups.. IBM gets my big dis. ( not that they'd give... )

While I'm on a roll, I encoded last year's performance as well. The same deal, 256Kbps version is here, and the 56Kbps version is here. For a low-quality download of the remix click dis! Got the honking AVI capture from Darren of our crew bustin' a move @ Lunar Gala 2001 to my latest LG2001 remix track. I simply don't have space on this server to host an AVI file... so I encoded it in real video ( sorry Matrox DualHead users ... no DVD zoom luvin... ) for all you guys to take a peek. The file is encoded @ 256Kbps for streaming, so if you guys don't have that sort of bandwith, go the slower route and grab the 56Kbps version. phew~ just got back from spinning @ theta xi. very very very tired. I think my feet is on fire... AT least, just like last year, the TSA/Theta Xi joint party was jam-packed and just crazy fun to spin at. I actually played some hard house.. ;) my lame attempt at trying to stay on-top of the songs that kids these days listen to. heh heh heh. What was really cool was that people still enjoy Hip Hop!! People were going crazy over my "warm it up" track (Kriss Kross, son). That was mad! =) I heard some good things afterwards, I take it that means I gots to practice some more. ^^

I bought about 40 used records through e-bay, and I have yet to drop'em on the platter, since I've simply been way too busy this week... ( just one more month and school is OVER!! ), but just kinda glancing at them makes me happy... =) I dunno... mo records mo fun.

Man.. I'm going insane... the folks at pioneer are building the tension up by showing just a little bit of their newest addition to the product line that is deemed to throw everyone away and to work / feel more like a real turntable than a cd player. Check it out! [ It seems like they have taken the sneak peek down - *sigh* - ]

A colleague of mine pointed me to this page that does a rather good job of listing various genres of music ( not all genres, but more than I can handle. ^^ ), humor included. It uses flash to load up a bunch of sound clips, so you might have to be a little patient. Note that the genres are NOT grouped by their root, but merely by genres that sound similar to the author.

Some people were wondering what happened to some of the movie files that I had up demonstrating some basic skratch techniques.. well, the truth of the matter is that I really don't want to get into the business of posting technique-oriented stuff on my homepage. I'll leave that up to millions of other sites out there. Asisphonics , Turntablism.com , Battlesounds, all do a much better job than I can. But I 'll just leave the tapping demo and the military skratch demo up. =)

so, I just got my DJM 600 mixer fixed. It wasn't broken per se, it just needed its crossfader replaced. It seems like there are others on the net who had purchased a DJM 600 with a flimsy crossfader. But it's a simple replace, so I took it to a nearby dealer and got it replaced with warranty, so all is good.

I'm still debating inside my head (been debating for the past 6months or so) on whether I did the right thing in buying this great mixer. Well, I don't have any intention to return the mixer nor am I able to do that, so I guess there's really no point in me debating it in my head. ;) I mean,it's an awesome mixer, but it's just not the best mixer to do crrrabs and flares on ... the curve setting doesn't seem to be as sharp as the ones on the Vestax mixers.. The vestax mixers did go down in price... so maybe this christmas I'll just get another one... or Santa will get it for me??
